Mentorship

Third Quadrant Design is excited to share we are launching our new Mentorship program this year. This program is targeted toward first and second year students who may not be experts in green building, but would like to learn more about the industry. The program will provide a transition for the next generation of green builders. The Mentorship program will provide young students with the necessary skills to become valuable contributing members and leaders in the years to come on the TQD Team and in their careers.

Applicants will apply directly to a sub-team but will have the option to opt into the mentorship program to reduce their workload and improve their chances of acceptance to the team! As a mentee, your main responsibilities will be listening and engaging in weekly green building training sessions from industry professionals, UBC Faculty, and TQD sub-team leads. You will have the chance to shadow your preferred sub-team and assist with team tasks. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability, responsible, hardworking, and able to commit to 2-5 hours per week to the team.

The Mentorship lead will support first and second year students who are seeking to develop their skills in green building design. They will reach out to industry leaders, UBC Faculty, and TQD sub-team leads to coordinate weekly lectures. You will be able to expand your network by meeting industry professionals and engaging with faculty. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, experience with networking, great leadership skills, and can commit to 3-5 hours per week.
