Third Quadrant Design the world's first student team to design and build a net-zero academic space on their own campus.
We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xwmÉ™θkwÉ™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam) People

Founded in September 2019 by 3 female engineering students, Third Quadrant Design brings together passionate students from various disciplines to learn and act on our climate crisis. Our team utilizes innovative technologies to design and build regenerative high-performance buildings.
We are undefeated at The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon® Design Challenge collegiate competition with our 2020 and 2021 submissions.

Our latest project was our submission to the 2024 Solar Decathlon Design Challenge: Vancouver Special 2.0.
Projects
design build project that was built on UBC's Vancouver campus from 2022 to 2023.
Mixed-Used Multi-Family
Laundry Haus was Third Quadrant Design's first attempt at a larger scale building. We transformed a light industrial warehouse at the end of its life into a high-performance five storey mixed-use development
Solis House was Third Quadrant Design's first submission into the competition. It features on-site solar power, food production, rainwater harvesting, natural ventilation, hot water heat recovery, and so much more.
